About the event
A relaxed and beginner-friendly 2-hour evening sewing class designed to help you feel more confident using your own sewing machine.
Whether you’ve recently bought a sewing machine, have one sitting at home that you’ve never quite got to grips with, or simply want to refresh your sewing skills, these sessions are a chance to slow down, learn the basics and get comfortable with your machine in a friendly and supportive environment.
This is Friday Evening Sewing Classes
Our beginner sewing classes run Friday evenings, with a fortnightly Tuesday afternoon session running in between.
You can book individual classes, so there’s no commitment to attend every session. Come along whenever a date works for you and build your confidence at your own pace.
If evenings work better for you, these Friday sessions are a great opportunity to learn and sew after work or at the end of the week.
Christmas Sewing in November & December
As we get closer to Christmas, our November and December sewing sessions will have a festive theme, giving you the chance to use your sewing skills to create some lovely handmade Christmas projects.
We'll be working on things such as Christmas stockings, handmade gifts and festive sewing projects that you can enjoy making and take home with you. A lovely opportunity to learn new skills while creating something you can actually use, gift or enjoy at home over Christmas.
What we'll cover
During the sessions, we’ll cover the essential sewing machine basics, including:
How to correctly thread your machine
Getting to know your machine and its settings
Understanding basic stitches
Different seam finishes
Practical sewing techniques
Time to practise and ask questions
You'll also have the opportunity to put your new skills into practice by creating a simple project that you can take home with you.
The sessions are designed specifically for complete beginners, so there’s no need to worry if you’re starting from scratch.
