Beginner Sewing Evening Workshop

A relaxed and beginner-friendly 2-hour sewing workshop designed to help you feel more confident using your own sewing machine.

Whether you’ve recently bought a sewing machine, have one sitting at home that you’ve never quite got to grips with, or simply want to refresh your sewing skills, this workshop is a chance to slow down, learn the basics and get comfortable with your machine in a friendly and supportive environment.

During the session, we’ll cover the essential sewing machine basics, including how to correctly thread your machine, getting to know your machine and its settings, understanding basic stitches and learning different seam finishes. You’ll then have the opportunity to put your new skills into practice by creating a simple project that you can take home with you.

The workshop is designed specifically for complete beginners, so there’s no need to worry if you’re starting from scratch. Bring along your own sewing machine and equipment so that you can learn on the machine you’ll be using at home, helping you feel more confident when you continue practising by yourself.

Don't have a sewing machine? we have one studio sewing machine that you can use.

Duration: Approximately 2 hours.

Top tip: If you have the manual for your sewing machine, please bring it along too! Every machine is slightly different, so having your manual with you can be really helpful when getting to know your machine and its settings.
